I think this is one of the most common questions about the NAM – whether the SDS011 can be replaced with the SPS30. Well, theoretically it’s possible, since support for the SPS30 has been available in NAMF for a long time, but there was still one “minor” issue – namely, how to physically connect the SPS30 to the HECA and install it in the NAM.
It seems the first question has already been answered. In the featured image, you can see one of the latest iterations of the adapter for connecting the HECA tube to the SPS30.
And the second question? We won’t leave you hanging on this one – work is already underway. Here’s a small illustration, but the iterations here are much slower than with 3D printing, so you’ll have to wait longer for the final version.
In any case, expect a complete solution to this problem soon. You’ll be able to use the SPS30 with NAM without any hassle.
This year we all go for a short winter holiday, so, from Feb 10th to Feb 14th orders won’t be processed. We will try to reply to emails, but expect delays.
All order will be processed in order they were placed/paid, starting from Monday, Feb 17th.
As for Wednesday (8.01) orders processing has been resumed. Until end of this week all delayed orders should be sent.
January, the weather is what it is, and unfortunately, we’ve been hit with a bad cold. Since there aren’t many of us, it has caused some issues with processing orders. Today (Tuesday, January 7th), no one will be able to prepare orders for shipping. I hope we’ll manage to send out at least some orders tomorrow, but after the extended weekend, there are quite a few to handle.
I apologize for the inconvenience, but unfortunately, this is the flip side of being a small business – it makes us flexible and able to adapt to our clients’ needs, but in situations like this, it’s hard to keep things running smoothly.
We’re taking care of ourselves and hope everything will get back to normal in a few days.
We wish all our clients, colleagues and friends a healthy, peaceful Christmas! May this holiday be an opportunity for all of us to become better people.
A minor but useful change. From now on, links to configuration help for NAM will appear. Currently, this is represented by a compass symbol, which leads to pages with a brief description. For example, like this one.
Why a compass? Because the icons used by NAMF are based on symbols available in Unicode. And somehow, I couldn’t find a better one. There’s a nice question mark, but white on white is not great, and red doesn’t quite fit.
Help is based on a system of pages that are generated along with the code on GitHub. The advantage is the simplicity of the whole system, and the structure allows for maintaining different language versions. For now, it’s just the structure; I still need to work on the translations (and expanding the list of topics) 🙂
The downside is that since the help files are on GitHub, internet access is required. When configuring NAM for the first time and connected to the AP in NAM, there usually isn’t network access, but this depends on the phone’s settings.
And yes, there will soon be an rc8 version, because I was convinced that rc7 included all the necessary translations/labels for languages, but it didn’t, so rc8 is coming soon. Based on this, there will likely be a stable version.
Other changes – the implementation of the BH1750 light sensor has been completed.
What next?
The next versions will have slightly different numbering. Since there is currently only one line of software, the year 2020 will be dropped from the version number. Thus, after NAMF-2020-46, the next version will be NAMF-47.
Version 47 will primarily focus on completing the ESP32 version with LoRa (and possibly Ethernet, but that’s not the main goal). As for sensors, the initial tests of the Winsen ZE25A are very promising, so I plan to add support for this O3 sensor to NAM.
We have introduced new feature for our customers from EU, who order for companies. If data provided during checkout shows that order can be fulfilled with reverse charge for VAT:
delivery to EU country different than Poland
there will be an invoice for company outside of Poland
On last stage, just before placing an order our system will show request to check tax ID in VIES database. This is required step:
In case tax id is active in VIES database You will get notification:
After reloading page, You will get quote with VAT removed:
Different outcome will be in case VIES service does not work (happens quite often, since VIES is dependent on services from each EU country to validate tax IDs). In that case You will see something like that:
Then You can reload page and try again. Usually VIES disruption lasts only few minutes.
There can be other option – VIES is working and tax ID you have provided is not active. Usually that means You have provided different tax id (most countries have different tax ids for use when purchasing in other EU countries). Just correct invoice data and try again.
There can be also some formal reason that tax id is not recognized and reverse charge invoice can’t be issued. If You need reverse charge invoice then first resolve issue in tax office of country which have issued tax id.
Summary
In case You will validate your tax ID during checkout our system will charge you only amount without VAT. This is best way to pay for order with invoice.
If You won’t validate ID we will do it later and in case reverse charge invoice can be issued we will do it and refund VAT amount (this was how it was working until now). Be advised that charge via PayPal or PayU are in PLN (Polish złoty) and during refund your bank will do exchange. We can’t guarantee you will get exact refund in your currency.
